Marijn de Jong is a marketing, strategy and retail ‘guy’ working and living in the province of Zeeland, The Netherlands. Commuting to Tilburg University every day I like to listen to podcasts.

I was a freelance web designer in the late ‘90s helping several companies build their online presence.

From a young age I’ve been taking apart computers and playing with operating systems. I got a boxed Redhat 5.2 for my 14th birthday and was using BeOS at the time.

From this interest I’ve gotten into the computer business, starting as a technical and sales employee and working to be assistant manager, when a collegue asked me to co-found a Mac retail business.

Using my retail experience mixed with web strategy I have developed a retail strategy and am still looking to implement new retail concepts.

As a student of Strategic Management I’m broadening my skills of marketing to encompass the whole package of competitive advantage, and combining and applying what I’m learning to Internet strategy.
